The Steadies take the explosively popular Top 40 sound and mix it with rocksteady and reggae influences, creating what they�ve dubbed �island rock.� Frontman Earl Pereira got his rock n� roll pedigree as a founding member of the popular Canadian band Wide Mouth Mason, who had two gold records, three Juno nominations, and a host of other accolades and awards. Pereira has toured the world, playing over 3000 shows and opening for iconic artists like the Rolling Stones and AC/DC. In 2010, with demand for his side project on the rise, Pereira left Wide Mouth Mason behind to pursue The Steadies full-time.
Ever the road warriors, The Steadies play almost 100 shows each year, making them one of the busiest bands in Saskatchewan. They have shared the stage with The Roots, Ziggy Marley, K-OS, Los Lobos, Arrested Development, Collective Soul, Blue Rodeo and many more. The band has headlined countless festivals across Canada and have showcased at the Winter Olympics, the Grey Cup, and at numerous industry conferences.
Their newest release, Starcity Shakedown (November 29, 2013), is an ode to The Steadies� island-rock roots while fusing fresh sounds and no-brainer dancefloor shakers. The debut album marks the band�s first release since their 2011 EP that earned them a WCMA nomination and a Top-50 pop/rock hit in Canada.
