7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

The Bills make people feel good with their music. Simple as that. Young or old. Trad or Alt. The band is an acoustic roots music powerhouse from Canada's West Coast, and they have a way of turning everyone on to the limitless possibilities of their instruments and voices. Strings, bellows, keys, skin and bows - these are the vehicles for The Bills' irresistible joyride.

It's easiest to label The Bills an important voice in the current folk/roots/rock movement, but this uber-musical quintet transcends categories and sonic boundaries. This is music for the ages, all the ages. Music that draws upon the most soulful and intellectual elements of western music to create something that is uniquely West Coast Canadian - songs and tunes that bring together broad global influences to create poetry, melody, harmony and groove in the finest fashion.

The Bills' live shows are legendary for their exuberance, power, virtuosity and sheer entertainment. Their recorded work carries all the same traits: they've been recognized through two JUNO nominations, two Western Canadian Music Awards and countless positive media and fan reviews:

"Probably the best live act I have ever seen" - Maverick Magazine, UK

"The biggest blast of fresh air to come out of Canada since The Band" - Glasgow Herald
.
Their latest release, Yes Please, features some of The Bills' finest songwriting to date. Twelve original compositions and one lush arrangement of a medley of gypsy-jazz ballads, these tracks draw all the beauty and energy you can imagine out of acoustic instruments and multi-layered vocal harmonies.

"The inherent quality of Yes Please won't surprise longtime fans." Victoria Times Colonist

The band's current lineup has been the same since 2005:

Marc Atkinson on mandolin, guitar, mandola and backing vocals.
Chris Frye on lead vocals and guitar.
Adrian Dolan on fiddle, accordion, piano, viola and backing vocals.
Richard Moody on violin, viola and backing vocals.
Scott White or Joey Smith on upright bass.
