This a Core course in the Art of HR Certificate program.
Whether it’s recruitment and compensation or holidays, safety, layoffs, and terminations, there’s one common denominator – all of these topics are governed by legislation. From the Employment Standards Act of BC to WorkSafe BC to the BC Human Rights Code, knowing which information to reference and when can be downright confusing. Not to mention the changes that COVID has brought about!
As a leader, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when it comes to the impacts of legislation on your organization’s HR policies and practices. This session will help demystify the “legalese” and leave you with the confidence to navigate the frameworks that impact you, understand what it all means to your organization, and know when to ask for help!
This event occurs over two half-days: Wednesday, April 7th & Friday, April 9th from 9:30 am -12:30 pm PST each day.
