The Arion (pronounced a-RYE-on) Male Choir has operated continually since its founding in 1892, during the reign of Queen Victoria. It predates the British Columbia Parliament Buildings (1897) and the Empress Hotel (1908).
The choir is celebrating its 95th Anniversary this year and we are privileged to host them in our community. The choir performs numerous concerts each year at venues in Victoria and elsewhere on Vancouver Island. In the recent past, it has performed at such public gatherings as the 100th Anniversary of the opening of the Provincial Legislative Building in Victoria, the annual Remembrance Day services at the Victoria Cenotaph and joint concerts with various travelling choirs.
Tickets are available at The Owl’s Nest Bistro in Chemainus and The Volume One Bookstore in Duncan. They will also be available at the door.
