Fun Folk Concert with Saskia Delaronde and Nathan Tinkham.
Two Canadian Songwriters
Saskia Delaronde is a favorite on the Canadian folk scene. As a European immigrant she has come to love Canada deeply, but periodically returns to Europe to play and to re-connect with her roots which shows in songs like War Bride, Spring Day in Holland, and Two Countries. Her talent as a seasoned singer/songwriter blends with a sense of humor that quickly puts her audience at ease. She performs with positive energy and strong conviction. Saskia toured and performed for 20 years with Darrel Delaronde as “The Great Plains’ and 10 years with Gary Fjellgaard throughout Canada and Europe. Nathan Tinkham helped her kick start her career with her first two albums and tours.
Nathan Tinkham Nathan Tinkham is a veteran of the Canadian folk, cowboy and country scenes. Nathan began his career in the early 70s busking on the streets of Victoria. Since then he has worked and recorded with Ian Tyson, Wilf Carter, Cindy Church, Quartette, Great Western Orchestra, Saskia and a host of others. His songs have been recorded by Quartette, Cindy Church, Gary Fjellgaard, Saskia Delaronde and Melanie Safka to name a few. He currently lives on Gabriola Island where he continues to write and work in his studio.
Nathan and Saskia are long time musical friends who work best as individual song writers featuring their own styles, while backing each other musically.
An evening full of laughter and fun, this is a show not to be missed.
