Macy Gray’s voice has drawn comparisons with Billy Holiday, Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, to name a few. “I Try,” remains one of her best-known songs, from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is, winning her a Grammy in 2001. Her latest album Stripped was recorded with notable jazz musicians including Russell Malone, Wallace Rodney and Ari Hoenig.
