A Persian Carpet-Weaver, A Canadian Traveler, and The One Who Waited
Telling original stories based in Persian culture and on her own travels in Iran, Kira Van Deusen's stories are set in both past and present time. The stories explore a young man's journey of self-discovery and the pressures inherent in a woman's cultural experience in Iran.
For more than 20 years Kira has delighted audiences in Canada, the US, and Europe with her storytelling accompanied by her evocative original cello and vocal music.
"Opening her knapsack of knowledge and artistry, Kira has become an ambassador of friendship and peace!"
"Kira explores ancient forms of storytelling in an avant-garde way. She revisits epics and myths of ... oral literature, and weaves a framework of brilliantly original cello music."
