Tai chi is an exercise that supports the body to heal itself through attuning a series of mindful gentle body movements with conscious breathing. This class will cover the fundamental foundations of tai chi. Posture, relaxed deep breathing and meditation, deep stretching, flowing movement, qi energy, and a deep understanding of mind-body connection will be discussed. This is a great class to increase mental clarity, physical balance and energy, and overall mind-body well-being. Suitable for all ages and health conditions.
Thao Dang is currently a Resident at Bethlehem Centre. She has been practicing tai chi for over 4 years under the style of Wudang and has been practicing mindfulness meditation over 10 years under the Plum Village tradition founded by Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hanh. She was taught by a Tai Chi Instructor based in Toronto who trained in the Wu Dang mountains in China. Her joy is to be able to share the wonderful physical, mental, and spiritual positive benefits of tai chi and meditation with everyone. She believes that there is no age too young or too old to play tai chi!
