The 5th annual "Swing Into Spring" is a one night event of Big Band music provided by upcoming stars of Vancouver Island University music program and the always popular Nanaimo Musicians Association Big Band.
Swing Into Spring #5 will feature the Victoria Idol vocalist Sydney Needham and male vocalist Niall Harvey
Sydney�s career includes fronting R & B sensation District of Soul and singing in the Victoria group Back Stage Betty. She is a three time finalist in Victoria Idol, winning in 2011. Sydney is currently studying at Vancouver Island University and performing with the Needham Wigmore Quintet as well as the Brio Trio.
Niall Harvey, has been said to carry the sound and soul of Frank Sinatra. Niall is also the leading force of an 8 piece latin, funk and jazz group; providing most of the songwriting and vocals for the Bananafish Dance Orchestra.

Swing Into Spring #5 is a production of Nanaimo Daybreak Rotary club. Funds provide scholarships for Vancouver Island University music students and support community projects.
