This series explores expressions of identity in contemporary Western Canadian art and the influence of art movements - especially those since the mid-20th century.
February 4, 2pm - 4pm, AGGV Spencer Mansion Dr. Betsy Tumasonis launches the series with an introductory overview, Modern Art Movements and the Expression of Identity.
February 11, 2pm - 4pm, AGGV Spencer Mansion The Honourable Patricia Bovey turns the focus to The Prominence of BC Women Artists: Insights & Impacts.
February 25, 2pm - 4pm, AGGV Spencer Mansion After a recess for Family Day, gallerist Mark Loria brings attention to Contemporary Indigenous Art of Vancouver Island.
March 3, 2pm - 4pm, AGGV Spencer Mansion Prof. Gu Xiong draws on his experience to examine Artistic Electricity: Migrant Displacement & Rebirth.
March 10, 2pm - 4pm, AGGV Spencer Mansion Dr. Menno Hubregtse concludes the series by linking the theme to Airport Architecture and Artworks in Western Canada and Beyond.
