Summertime Blues Festival has some blues for everyone – from R&B, boogie-woogie, blues-rock, to Chicago blues, jump blues, soul & gospel and so much more. Enjoy and dance to the blues in Nanaimo’s scenic Inner Harbour and feel the oceanside breeze and good island vibes! This year’s blues line-up includes Anthony Gomes, Crystal Shawanda, Jenie Thai, Jimmy D. Lane, Jim Byrnes, Angel Forrest & Denis Columbus, David Gogo, Brandon Issak, BMW w/ Big Dave McLean, David Vest and Jeff Plankenhorn and an amazing line-up of regional and local blues musicians. You are in for a treat on Saturday with the Summertime New Blues Showcase introducing young and emerging blues players on the local scene.
The 2022 Summertime New Blues artist is 12 year-old James Vickers and he is backed by a talented roster of young blues players. The future of the blues is looking bright. Who’s got shades? Experience the Sunday soul & gospel hour and we dare you to keep your feet still. Food trucks, vendors and refreshments are on site. Bring your chair or rent one on site. Come celebrate summer and dancing with the blues community and remember the blues makes you feel so good!
