Shawnigan Lake Museum is hosting presentations by guest speakers at 1:00 PM on the following Wednesdays.
August 5th
Exploring The Many Features Of Google Earth And What It Can Do For You.
Demonstration of the incredible Google Earth mapping program's many features - 3/4 hr + discussions. Intended for people completely unfamiliar and familiar with the free program. Everyone should find something new about the program that they did not know. This is a demonstration, not a how-to-do session. Presented by Neil Bonner.
August 19th
Early Maps Of Vancouver Island
Michael Layland was trained as an officer and a mapmaker in the Royal Engineers. Michael lives in Victoria and is acknowledged as one of Vancouver Island’s foremost map historians. He has recently published a book, Land of Heart’s Delight, a coffee table book on early maps and charts of Vancouver Island. The book will be available for purchase.
All presentations are by donation.
