Summer Biathlon Fun Race

The Vancouver Island Biathlon Club invites you to take part in a one day biathlon race at our range at Mt Washington Nordic area 600 metres past Raven Lodge. No experience? No problem! Our instructors are available to familiarize you with the biathlon rifle and shooting protocol prior to the race start. The race will be conducted in a safe manner and everyone is welcome. It’s casual, we aim to have FUN!
Event Schedule:
9:15 Coaches meeting
9:30 – 11:30 am Rifle zeroing, safety training and practice.
12:00 Start of races
14:00 Awards
Format:Men over 19 – 4 loops total of 8km(with penalty loops)
Women over 19 and Youth 15 – 19 yrs -5 loops total of 6 km
Juniors 11-14 yrs – 4 loops total of 4 km
Cross-country mountain biking and 3 shooting bouts.
Minimum age 10yrs
Cost:$20 for members of Biathlon BC (2017-2018)
$25 for non-members (covers insurance)
Rifles and ammunition supplied
Prizes & Refreshments.
Additional box of ammo (50 rds) $7.00
