A special fundraiser screening of an award-winning film documenting a group of local cavers who spend their weekends in the amazing cave systems of British Columbia.
Subterranean follows two gritty teams of cave explorers poised to break records for the longest and deepest caves in all of Canada. Digging into the oddly fascinating world of cave culture, Subterranean uncovers a story of true adventure and (if they’re lucky) record-setting discovery.
On the “Longest Cave” team, Port McNeill locals Franck Tuot, Peter Curtis, Conor Howard, and Dennis Mitchell, alongside John Lay, Erin Bartlett, and other island cavers work together in pursuit of connecting two major cave systems in the North of Vancouver Island. Film subjects will be in attendance at the screening for Q&A after the film with proceeds benefiting the non-profit Vancouver Island Cave Exploration Group.
