Vancouver Island University, Positive Space Alliance is pleased to bring Dr. Gloria Filax, Athabasca University and Dr. Gerald Walton, Lakehead University, to Nanaimo. We expect their session to be engaging for academic as well as a community audience. Using media images they will examine being "straight" and the benefits that flow from this status; how being a member of a sexual minority (gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender) leads to marginalization. Everyone welcome, including youth.
