add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Since time immemorial, ancestral stories have been portrayed through art. West Coast traditions evolved to create lineage and family stories on dance curtains, robes, through masks and dance within each of the Nations. With the story shawl, a contemporary application of this traditional art form, artist Charlene George works with individuals to identify and create their personal stories.
Through appliqués and original designs these stories become vibrant and functional pieces of art. In this workshop you will learn some of the teachings and elements of portraying family history through art.
You will also learn the techniques of fabric appliqués and over the course of two days will create your own scarf or small wall hanging. Materials & and lunch are included.
