Steppin' Up in aid of MISSION 14

In a single year, 2014, the founder of Mission 14, Nick Cienski, will climb the 14 highest mountains in the world with only the support of high-altitude sherpas.

Mission 14� is venturing into uncharted territory. No human has ever attempted climbing so many high altitude peaks in such a short amount of time. The challenges of this expedition will mirror the challenges that face families living in poverty across the world. Children growing up in poverty face under-education, under-employment, trafficking, malnutrition and orphanhood. He is summiting these 14 mountains on their behalf.

Mission 14� is about telling the stories worth telling. Kiana Smith, a grade 12 student at Dover Bay High School was inspired to take action for this cause. Using her gifts of song and dance, she has put together an entertaining show to raise money and awareness for Mission 14�. A number of incredibly talented up and coming young artists have committed to the cause, such as Jayden Holman, an exceptionally talented singer/songwriter; Vanessa Marie Croome, an outstanding vocalist who has been training in the US for the last couple of years; Kiana Smith, who recently won the Dance Upon A Dream world title in tap dance; Dover Bay�s Senior Jazz Band, Footclan Dance Crew, the 2012 grand champions of the Surrey Dance Festival, and some of the best group dance numbers of the year from Kirkwood Academy, Harbour Dancentre, Vibe Dance, and Tempo Dance Academy. An improv comedy troupe made up of some of the funniest and gifted young actors in Nanaimo will interact with the audience to produce some hilarious comedy.



Tickets are available at Vibrant Dance Studios on Boxwood Rd., Performing Fabrics next to Costco and Lady�s Mantle in Parksville. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
