Build, create & discover with Nanaimo Science!
Every day, we will be taking on new STEM activities with our scientists.
This indoor-based camp is available for individual day registrations. Lunch/recess will be held outdoors when weather permits, which will include a walk to Long Lake (approximately 15 minutes each way, on side roads).
While this is a primarily indoor camp, students must bring appropriate outerwear for recess/lunch at Long Lake. Masks must be worn during the duration of the indoor portion of camp, and students will need to respect social distancing and remain at their table/work station while indoors.
Themes will vary by day, see below for an example of the themes offered the first week of daily camps!
Tuesday July 6th: Rocket Science! 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF! Join us for a day of rocket science, building catapults, and learning all about flight!
Wednesday July 7th: Learn to Code! Learn the fundamentals of coding with our Ozobots and an introduction to Scratch - a great drag & drop coding platform.
Thursday July 8th: Learn to Code with MicroBits! Check out our newest tech: MicroBits! These tiny computers are pretty powerful - build a rock/paper/scissors random generator, and other projects. Other coding activities and challenges will also be part of our fun learning day!
