Spring Dessert Concert

Cantiamo is a 27-voice choir under the accomplished direction of Jennifer Riley, with members ranging in age from 13 to 24. For this concert they will be performing a wide range of material from a number of musical traditions. Bruckner�s �Ave Maria�, �Twa Tanbou� a Haitian song about cooperation, R. Murray Schafer�s �Gamelan� based on the gamelan music of Bali, as well as rousing gospel numbers will all make for a memorable evening of uplifting spirit and dazzling harmonies.
In addition to the whole choir, an octet comprised of some of Cantiamo�s most experienced singers will perform several songs, including �A Boy and a Girl� by Eric Whitacre. They have a special love for this music after the choir had the privilege of working with Whitacre on their trip to California 2 years ago.
This concert promises to be a wonderful finish for your Easter weekend. Tickets are $15 which includes dessert, and are available from choir members, at the door, or by calling Marki at 250-338-6478 to reserve. All proceeds from this concert will go towards renting a bus for the choir�s upcoming Island Tour.
