HOMELESSNESS ACTION WEEK
Special Screening of Home Safe Hamilton
A DOCUMENTARY BY LAURA SKY & DAVID ADKIN
I just wish that we always have a place to call home a place to grow up in
and have lots of memories.... Everybody in this world needs to call a place a home.
 Florence Hill, documentary participant
HOME SAFE HAMILTON is the third in the SkyWorks series of documentaries that deals with how Canadian families with children live with the threat and the reality of homelessness. The film examines systemic roots of homelessness as a consequence of economic restructuring, discrimination and displacement. It includes stories of steelworkers affected by industrial layoffs, high school students living in poverty, new Canadians, and Aboriginal families.
The screening will be followed by a discussion on local solutions.
