Mary will surely enchant everyone during her concert, "Cathedral Trail," performing everything from traditional Irish folk songs in her native Gaelic to modern pop songs with both New Age and folk sounds. Beginning her Career in Ireland as a featured singer and harpist with the famous Bunratty castle singers, she has performed for radio and television for heads of state in Canada (Brian Mulroney), the U.S. (President Richard Nixon), Ireland (Cearbhall O Dalaigh), and Japan (Prince and Princess Takamado).
Soon after immigrating to Canada, Mary moved to California and studied under Sam Cook and Robert (Bumps) Blackwell , who discovered and promoted Quincy Jones and Little Richard, during their prime artistic years. During this time Mary recorded with Ray Ellis, who worked with Barbra Streisand. Mary Also worked with Solomon Burke and was the opening act for Al Martino (Jubilee Auditorium, Edmonton).
Mary is a singer, composer, pianist and harpist. She calls upon an extensive range of folk songs balanced by an enthusiasm for a contemporary repertoire. However, her distinctive and compelling sound doesnt fit into one genre. Having long explored traditional Irish themes to capture their very essence, her voice reflects the lyricism and richness found in Irish music and poetry with a voice that is undeniably her own.
