NANAIMO REGGAE MASSIVE presents a night of roots reggae, cumbia, and reggaeton featuring two great bands and local DJ, Rebel Selector!
CHEKO & The LION ROCKERS is a roots reggae band formed of seasoned B.C. reggae musicians led by Sergio "Cheko" Soto, a genre-versatile musician originally from Mexico and making waves on the island music playing in few different bands including Marafani World Beat from Victoria.
SOUTH AMERICA ALL-STARS is a brand new project consisting of members Colombian reggae band Providencia and Argentinian cumbia band Entangados. All have toured the area with their respective bands but this will be their first performance as a new project together. Their sound is mostly cumbia with side dishes of salsa and sprinkling of reggae influences. REBEL SELECTOR is a Nanaimo-based music enthusiast. He is the host of Rebel Music International on CHLY 101.7 FM. His sets can be described as a ecclectic, diverse and infectiously danceable. He plays everything from reggae, classic ska and dancehall to cumbia, reggaeton and hip hop.
