Souper Bowls of Hope is an annual fundraiser, organized by volunteers attracting 100s of supporters. Local potters and schoolchildren create one of a kind ‘Souper Bowls', one for each guest to take home. Gourmet soup is ladled by local celebrities, politicians and media personnel. Local musicians provide the background ambiance while our guests enjoy their soup and peruse the many silent auction items. A live auction has our guests sitting on the edge of their seats as the bids go higher and higher all to support the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society.

Funds raised support the many programs of the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society (YES). YES assists to remove youth from the high risk environment of the street and make the transition to healthier and more constructive life situations. YES also helps youth and families make positive choices, which will prevent involvement in at risk behaviour or connection with the street scene. Funds will be directed this year to the Alliance Club (Club) program.

The Club is an evening drop in centre for youth ages 13 to 19. The Club provides a safe, healthy alternative for youth who may be hanging out in the downtown core, as well as a connection point for at risk youth and street entrenched youth who may wish to explore a more positive lifestyle. In 2014 the Club provided 6831 meals and snacks; 366 showers; 343 pieces of clothing; 284 hygiene products; 219 laundry services and 200 bus tickets.
