Sound Sculpting, improvisational singing with April

We will meet in the picnic shelter near the river at Bowen Park's Wall Street entrance. It's beautiful to sing by moving water, and Nanaimo's beautiful park is a good setting for it. I'll be leading our music session by making up short repeating parts, and teaching them. Then soloing over those parts. We'll be thinking like instruments instead of like singers. We'll make up rhythms parts, maybe a sung bass line, we could add horn lines or even pretend to be machine parts. I use techniques taught to my by Rhiannon of rhiannonmusic.com, and from David Hatfield of Vancouver's Singing Soul workshops. My longer 2 hour workshops use many different exercises.

It's like theatre improv games but for the voice.
