Guest Speakers: Corrie Corfield | Director of People, Culture & Engagement | Island Crisis Care Society

Corrie Corfield is the Director of People, Culture & Engagement at Island Crisis Care Society. Through housing and outreach programs, Island Crisis Care Society helps people in crisis stabilize and find the support, resources and services they need to recover and be well.

During this conversation, Corrie Corfield will share the story of acquiring the Nanaimo Bakery & Café and transitioning it into a social enterprise—outlining the process of purchasing an existing business and what that has meant in terms of employment and community impact. & Kix Citton | Executive Director | Nanaimo Brain Injury Society

Kix Citton is the Executive Director at Nanaimo Brain Injury Society, a non-profit that has been providing support, education and connection for people living with brain injury since 1988 through education, advocacy, and community support.

Kix will talk about the organizational shifts that have taken place over time, including the development and launch of their new social enterprise focused on helping people to “re-wire” their brains through neuroplasticity. Kix will share the 'how' of their process to date.
