Nanoose First Nation has hosted an annual Xmas Art and Craft Show for 5 years. This gathering brings local artists from Vancouver Island together to showcase their work. This unique gathering welcomes the public into the heart of the the Nanoose First Nations Community, also known as Snaw Naw As. Youth are developing skills by coordinating this event that aims to build a sense of community.
Nanoose First Nation is a Coast Salish Tribe with Snuneymuxw and Qualicum as their neighboring First Nations. Children and youth in the community enjoy visitors coming from all over Vancouver Island in the spirit of Christmas. There will be door prizes and a loonie toonie auction! Local artists and cooks will provide a unique experience for visitors. There will be carvings, native applique, cedar woven goods, silk screened items, cards, youth artwork and so much more.
In the spirit of reconciliation, community and Christmas, all are welcome to Snaw Naw As and Friends Art and Craft show.
