Slow Spirit aspires to invent sophisticated songs bridging pop-paced melody with post-rock experimentation, blending subtle poetry with breakbeats, creating an intricate sound not unlike the experimentations of Joni Mitchell and Radiohead. Slow Spirit is set to expand their fan-base nationally through regional touring and will release a hi-fi studio recording in 2015. The four creatively driven musicians in Slow Spirit met at Brandon University’s School of Music in Manitoba some years ago and were pleased to find each other moving along equally diverse paths in music: from folk to punk, hip-hop jam bands to ambient noise ensembles. They are the proud creators of 4 DIY EPs distributed at their shows around the Winnipeg music scene and at Manitoban music festivals - including the Brandon Folk Festival, Winnipeg's Festivale du Voyageur, Rainbow Trout Music Festival, and Shine On Music Festival.

Their latest EP offering, Bad News, was released on February 10, 2015 as an 18-minute-long live performance video of 5 songs recorded in one take. Summer 2015 sees Slow Spirit touring regionally in British Columbia, including a performance at the carefully curated and somewhat secret Campbell Bay Music Festival in the Gulf Islands. http://www.manitobamusic.com/slowspirit
