Winter is here and plans are well underway for the MS Society of Canada�s fourth annual Ski for MS fundraising event at Mount Washington Alpine Resort.

We have put together a great day of fun and excitement for our participants! Raise the pledge minimum for your age group and you will receive a complimentary alpine lift ticket for January 31st, barbeque lunch and beverage, entry to our Obstacle Course and Scavenger Hunt, a Ski for MS toque, and the chance to win great prizes! Reduce the pledge minimum by 25% if you have a 2009/2010 season pass at Mount Washington. Anyone interested in cross country skiing should contact me for further details.

Pledge minimums remain unchanged from 2009 and are as follows:

Adult (19-64): $125
Senior (65+): $100
Youth (13-18): $75
Child (7-12): $50
Tot (-6): $25

Many of our participants raise much more than the pledge minimum and we are pleased to offer fundraising rewards to individual participants who go above and beyond for the MS Society of Canada! Raise a minimum of $300 by January 31st, 2010 and qualifty for one of the following rewards:

Raise between $300 - $499 and receive a $20 Chapters gift card
Raise between $500 - $999 and receive a $50 OH Spa gift certificate
Raise $1,000 or more and receive an adult alpine day lift ticket for Mount Washington

Registered participants will receive a pledge sheet to raise funds prior to the event as well as access to their own Ski for MS fundraising webpage.

We encourage participants to create or join a team. Teams will have a team photo taken and are eligible for additional team prizes for the best team spirit and the team with the highest fundraising total!

Proceeds from Ski for MS will make a real difference in the lives of people affected by MS - people that live with the hope of a cure and count on innovative research to make that happen and those whose quality of life is enhanced through the programs and services that the MS Society provides. We continue to make significant doantions to research and provide quality programs and services to those affected by MS on North Vancouver Island including one-on-one information, support, advocacy and referral services to people affected by MS, monthly self-help group meetings, access to our Equipment Provision / Equipment Loan Program, and our annual Comox Clinic where professionals from the Multiple Sclerosis Research Facility at UBC come to the Comox Valley to see North Vancouver Island clients.
