What do games of skill and 5Play have in common? Does combining fun and fund raising mean everyone wins? Find out when the Sierra Club Comox Valley presents Sierra Spring Fling on the Estuary. 5Play, a talented group of Courtenay musicians, will deliver an engaging mix of old jazz standards, blues, swing, contemporary folk and a liberal sprinkling of original tunes. Guests will be encouraged to participate in various games of skill with chances to win prizes. A silent auction of art, gift baskets and gift certificates from local establishments will also entice, as will the sweet and savory finger foods and beverages.

As a Local Group of the B. C. Chapter of Sierra Club Canada, Sierra Club CV's mission is to help protect, preserve and restore the Comox Valley bio-region, its ecosystems, species and habitats. Gathered initially to oppose a proposal for a gas station in a high-risk earthquake area, the core group expanded our vision to address the sustainability of the entire Courtenay River watershed. Currently, Sierra Comox Valley is focusing on two key campaigns: No Gas on the Dyke and the Raven Coal Mine Campaign (in partnership with Coal Watch Comox Valley).
