The Sidney BIA, in collaboration with the Mary Winspear Centre, the Sidney Museum, and the Vancouver Island Sculpture Guild, is pleased to announce Sidney Sculpture by the Sea, a two-month contemporary sculpture display that features more than 30 artists and close to 100 pieces of art.

Sidney Sculpture by the Sea will open on July 8 at two different venues, the Mary Winspear Centre and the Sidney Museum and run through early September. Each venue will showcase sculptures of different sizes, mediums, and images. Most will be for sale.

With support from the Town of Sidney, the summer show will also highlight the many sculptures that line Sidney’s beautiful waterfront, Beacon Avenue and elsewhere around Town. These include the large unique collection of First Nations sculptures from artists across Canada housed at the Mary Winspear Centre. These too will be on display, adding cultural richness and meaning to the festival. Towards the end of July, The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea will add to its outdoor sculpture display, right on the waterfront, with a new, contemporary piece by master-carver, Temosën (Charles Elliot), whose work is found around the world.
