Expert in Egyptian dances, cultural activist, and artist, Nada El Masriya from Egypt, and software developer, community organizer, and founder of Strong Towns Nanaimo, Michael Bassili also with roots from Egypt, come together with cultural activist and educator on dances from Africa, Tania Amaral from Mozambique – What do they all have in common? They are all Africans! Enjoy an African-style dish as these three speakers share about themselves, their cultures, and their journeys moving from their home countries to Canada, reminding us that Africa is a continent full of unique perspectives. This BC Family Day weekend, we encourage teens and parents to join this lively, intercultural space of sharing and learning. You’re invited to ask questions and engage in this open conversation!
