The One Human Family Gospel Choir has been performing on Vancouver Island for 4 years and is well known for its inspirational music composed and arranged by musical director Eric Dozier. The songs, drawn from traditional African-American spirituals, bring an inspiring, uplifting message of love, encourage us to build pockets of peace in the world through freedom, and fill our souls with hope for a better world. Eric�s original compositions are a highlight of every concert and his beautiful arrangements showcase his amazing talent as a singer and arranger with a wide range of styles including jazz, blues, gospel and soul music. The choir is a unique and diverse group that comes from all over Vancouver Island and loves to go to a variety of communities to meet people and share our music. The choir has been working on its new repertoire and has recently been accepted to perform at the choral competition �Kathaumixw� in Powell River in 2010.


The One Human Family Gospel Choir is pleased to be performing for a benefit concert for the Kapasseni Project on Sunday January 24th at 3 pm in the Isabelle Reader Theatre in Langford, BC. All proceeds will go to support missionaries Joseph and Perpetua Alfazema as they live and work among the poorest people in Sofala province of Mozambique. It will be an inspirational experience for the whole family and a tangible way for the average person to help a great project in Africa. The Alfazemas, refugees from the Kapasseni area, were residents of Langford for many years and are the founders of the Kapasseni Project. With community support from friends, church members, and several choirs, the Kapasseni project has been instrumental in bringing a small village back to life and bringing hope to many people who are hungry, poorly educated and suffering from AIDS. The project is well known for using all of its funds for the work in the field as the Canadian committee is totally run by volunteers in the Langford area. For more information go to www.kapasseni.org
