Shack Island Summer is the title of Penny Chamberlain's new juvinile fiction . Shack Island is a local gem for Nanaimo , full of history and it's rustic beauty and charm remains . The story takes place in the 60's when this area of Nanaimo was a summer destination for many families. Penny will be doing a reading from her new book about 2:30 . You'll have a chance to chat with the auther, and locals about this historically segnificant location . Penny will be happy to do book signings as well.
Penny Chamberlain has also published 2 other historical fictions ,Olden Days Locket , set at Point Ellice House in Victoria , and Chasing the Moon, set in the southern Gulf Islands in the 1920's during the "rum running" days.
