Cowichan Camerata String Orchestra is pleased to celebrate spring with a wonderful variety of timeless music.
We have been performing in the Cowichan Valley for more than fifteen years, and starting in 2018 under the musical direction of Chris Redsell. The ‘Serenade to Spring’ concert program is diverse and includes the Concerto Grosso, “La Follia” by Francesco Geminiani, two movements from Antonin Dvorak’s Serenade No. 1 in E Major, Franz Schubert's Entr'acte from Rosamunde, John Rutter’s “Suite for Strings”, Max Richter's 'On the Nature of Daylight,' and other short pieces on the program. We are also very happy to have the professional duo of Elizabeth Jahren and Chris Redsell returning to play special selections arranged by Jahren for Accordian and Viola.
Tickets are $15 per adult, with children under 12 free, and are available by emailing [email protected] to reserve, or through orchestra members. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at Ten Old Books and Volume One Bookstore in Duncan. Masks and full vaccination plus booster shots against COVID-19 are recommended but not currently required by provincial Public Health Officer orders.
The CCSO is a ‘strings only’ orchestra, that offers musicians of various abilities the opportunity to develop their skills and experience the joys of playing in an orchestra and performing in public. We invite anyone interested in joining us to connect through Facebook, or visit our website for more information.
