Seeking Life: Linden and the Bard
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
The Linden Singers of Victoria, under Music Director Brian Wismath and accompanied by pianist Jane Edler-Davis, presents an afternoon concert with a wonderfully diverse programme of choral music based on the works of William Shakespeare.
The greatest writer in the English language, the immortal Bard has been a never-ending source of rich artistic inspiration. Shakespeare may have died in 1516, but his works speak still speak to audiences today; he writes about who we are and the lives we lead. The works featured in this concert, all written during the past 60 years across a broad spectrum of musical genres, from the classical to contemporary, jazz and pop, provide a glimpse of his universality and deep understanding of the human psyche.
Concert highlights include selections by Bob Chilcott, John Williams, Emma Lou Diemer, Sven-Eric Johanson and George Shearing.
