Science-Sea Day at the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre

In conjunction with National Science and Technology Week, the aquarium is hosting a special �Science-sea Day� on Friday, October 25, from 11am to 3pm.

Delve into marine science with new demonstrations, presentations and experiments for the whole family�

Interested in knowing about the technology used to make an aquarium run? Watch and learn as our Aquarists use their technical gadgets and gizmos to clean the water in our exhibits, test pH levels, and remove proteins, all while explaining cool topics like jellyfish reproduction (if you wear glasses, now would be a good time to push them up)�it�s science!

And at 1:00pm, meet an Oceaneer on the dock at the end of Beacon Avenue to watch a plankton tow. �What will they find?� you ask�well, return to the Centre (admission required) where the tow sample will be examined under a microscope!
