Dave will also discuss several medicinal plant species growing there. Bodaly will also share some of his family history research and their long connection to Nanaimo.
For several years, his great-grandfather, Harry James, displayed his ceremonial masks and other cedar carvings in the Spencer’s Department Store (later Eaton’s) on Victoria Crescent. After many months, he decided that too many people were photographing the artwork so he removed them from the window display in 1959.
In addition, Dave Bodaly may also address your questions and interests regarding Snuneymuxw First Nation and Coast Salish art, culture and history
