One of the liveliest party-starting bands in New York, Grammy-nominated drummer/vocalist Sammy Miller and his hard-swinging sextet are on a mission to bring “joyful jazz” to the masses. Miller has a master’s degree from Juilliard, and an admirable focus on sharing the power of community through his band’s globally-conscious music. With great chops and a refreshingly loose and lighthearted performance style, these superb young players have a genuine, infectious love of swinging jazz that spreads to the audience, and dance floor, in no time. The band includes Alphonso Horne (trumpet), Ben Flocks (saxophone), Sam Crittenden (trombone), David Linard (keyboards), and John Snow (bass).
