Salute to the Navy
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
The Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society uses Harrison Pond every Sunday between April and October for freestyle operations of model ships, most scale replicas. The first Sunday of May every year commemorates the Battle of the Atlantic with a formal parade.
The Salute will be a more detailed celebration of the 100th Birthday of the Canadian Navy as a whole. All types of warship models from near and far will be invited to join the fun. A parade, "fueling at sea", and blind conning are some of the possibilities considered by the organizers.
A bonus for spectators will be watching the full-size warships of several nations in the First Pacific Fleet Review taking place offshore at the same time.
