Gala Opening of Finalists' Exhibition opens at 6:00pm, Friday, September 22. $15.00 SSNAP Finalists' Exhibition month long showcase daily 10:00am to 5:00pm till October 22, Single entry $5, month long pass $10.

Walk into historic Mahon Hall on Salt Spring Island from Friday, September 22 onward and you'll find yourself in a gallery space featuring national art works of the highest calibre.

Forty-nine Canadian visual artists will have their works on display during the month-long Salt Spring National Art Prize Finalists' Exhibition.

The Art Prize provides an opportunity for these artists to win awards of up to $30,000. The winners, chosen by a blind jury, will be announced on October 21. The 2017 show runs from September 22 to October 22 and is open daily from September 23 from 10:00am till 5:00pm.

SSNAP KEY DATES: September 22, 2017: Gala Opening of Finalists’ Exhibition, Mahon Hall 6:00pm, admission $15 includes one month entry to exhibit

September 23 – October 22, 2017: Exhibition open daily from10:00am to 5:00pm, admission is $5 single entry, $10 one-month entry

September 29 – October 22 – Parallel Art Show, daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm, admission is free

October 14, 2017: The Creative Mind: Creativity in the Arts and Sciences Speakers include director Atom Egoyan, astrophysicist Art McDonald and photographer Meaghan Ogilvie. ArtSpring, 7:30pm, tickets $25

October 21, 2017: Winners announced at Gala Awards Night, 6:00pm, admission $15 All events take place at historic Mahon Hall, 166 Lower Ganges Road, except for The Creative Mind panel and Parallel Art Show at ArtSpring, 100 Jackson Ave. Tickets for the Creative Mind event are available at both at Mahon Hall and via ArtSpring.
