Salt Spring Forum: Taking Kinder Morgan to Court
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Many First Nations and other communities on BC’s coast strongly oppose the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project. The new BC government has just been granted intervener status to support a combination of nineteen lawsuits to be heard this fall against the project.
Karen Campbell – a lawyer and the Climate Change Program Director at Ecojustice – joins the Salt Spring Forum to discuss the legal strategies being used to stop the pipeline expansion. Campbell is currently leading one of the lawsuits, which aims to protect the endangered Southern Resident Orcas against the risks posed by the planned increase in tanker traffic.
Campbell has practiced law for more than 20 years, and her previous legal victories include overturning the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline approval. Make sure to join Karen Campbell to discuss an issue that directly affects us all.
