Lester Brown is one of the early founders of the global environmental movement and the Salt Spring Forum is delighted that he will join us in conversation on Sunday, November 10, at 7:30 pm in ArtSpring.
Lester Brown pioneered the concept of sustainable development and recognized the process of globalization well before the term existed. He is the founder of the Worldwatch and Earth Policy institutes, two major environmental research groups. For half a century, Brown has helped us to understand the interconnections among issues as overpopulation, water shortages, and climate change and to find workable solutions.
Identified as one of the worlds most influential thinkers by the Washington Post, Brown has authored or coauthored over 50 books. He has been honoured with a MacArthur Fellowship, the UN Environment Prize, and 25 honorary degrees.
