With a province-wide referendum on proportional representation expected this fall, the Salt Spring Forum is offering a new adult education course: A day-long seminar on electoral reform and democratic theory taught by Professor Max Cameron, one of the world’s leading experts on this topic.
The course will follow-on directly from a regular Forum event with Professor Cameron the previous evening:

Professor Cameron teaches comparative politics, constitutionalism, and democratization at UBC, where he also directs the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions. He appears frequently in the media on issues such as electoral reform, campaign financing and political ethics.
Professor Cameron’s advice on democratic institutions and electoral reform is frequently sought out by governments, including with regards to the questions in the referendum this fall.
This is a unique and timely chance to gain a deep understanding of democratic theory and electoral reform. Register today at https://maxcameroncourse.eventbrite.ca.
Included in the $135 registration fee: A copy of Professor Cameron’s new book Political Institutions and Practical Wisdom (Oxford University Press, 2018); a ticket for the Salt Spring Forum public event the previous evening; and coffee, tea and snacks. (Please note, there will be a one hour break for lunch.)
