Dance Lesson with Salsa With Chris

We’re thrilled to welcome back Chris Wood, lead instructor of Salsa With Chris based in the Comox Valley. With over 20 years of salsa dancing and 11 years of teaching experience, Chris brings unmatched energy and clarity to the dance floor. His style blends technique with fun, and his passion for salsa, bachata, cha-cha-cha, and rueda is contagious. Chris began his teaching career in Nanaimo, and now he’s teamed up with Salsa Dancing Nanaimo to share his love of dance with us once again. Whether you’re new to salsa or looking to refresh your moves, his 8:30 PM demo lesson will set the tone for a fantastic night!

🎷 About the Artists – Natasha Hoskins Trio

🎤 Natasha Hoskins (Drums & Vocals) A proud Nanaimo local, Natasha is a jazz drummer, vocalist, educator, and longtime music community advocate. A graduate of Vancouver Island University’s jazz program, Natasha has performed with top Vancouver Island artists including Elise Boulanger and Sol Azul. She’s also a board member with the Nanaimo International Jazz Festival Association, committed to elevating live music across the region. Expect groove, heart, and artistry from behind the kit — and the mic.

🎹 Nick Peck (Piano) London-born pianist and composer Nick Peck studied at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama before building a stellar reputation in both the UK and Canadian jazz scenes. He’s performed with jazz greats like Peter Bernstein, Terell Stafford, and Cory Weeds. Nick brings elegance, warmth, and rhythmic depth to every performance.

🎻 Brock Meades (Bass) A masterful double bassist with a classical performance degree from UVic, Brock Meades is making waves across Western Canada’s jazz circuit. Known for his award-winning style and on-stage precision, Brock provides the rich, driving pulse that holds it all together.
