Instructor: Adrienne Grange
Adrienne’s professional ballet journey began at the age of 5, and at age 9 was accepted to the National Ballet School in Toronto, where she trained with renowned teachers such as Betty Oliphant, Mavis Staines, Laurel Toto, and Tia Zhang for 5 years. When Adrienne was 15 she left the National Ballet School and pursued ballet education in the Vaganova method with influential ballet teachers including Nadia Veselova-Tencer and the late Bella Kovarsky, teacher of Mikhail Baryshnikov. Adrienne was invited to train at the famous Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg Russia, in the class of Margarita Zagorskaya, and later attended The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC in the class of Alla Sizova and Nikolai Morozov. Her ballet training finished at National Ballet School’s Intensive Dance Program with Lindsay Fischer, Mandy Richardson, and Reginald Amato. Adrienne’s ballet career has given her the opportunity to share the stage with many great ballet artists and perform with well-known ballet companies including Ontario Ballet Theatre, National Ballet of Canada, National Ballet Theatre of Brno, Kirov Ballet and the Banff Festival of the Arts. Adrienne has danced Corp de Ballet and principal roles in repertoire including James Kudelka’s Swan Lake and Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Jewels, Four Temperaments, Don Quixote, Les Sylphides, Giselle, La Bayadere, and Vinogradov’s Nutcracker. She is delighted to share her great knowledge of classical ballet and hopes to instill a joy for dance upon her students.
