Get into some �sea reads�! Join our book club and enjoy ocean-themed titles of both the fiction and non-fiction variety.
Sponsored in part by the Times Colonist Raise a Reader program, the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre is once again offering a free book club for kids, one that offers stories relating in some way to the sea. There are over fifteen titles to choose from for each age category: preschool-K, 6 to 8yrs, and 9-12 yrs. The book lists can be downloaded/printed from our website.
And in order for kids to keep track of which titles they�ve read, there�s a Rockfish Readers Passport to complete which can be downloaded/printed in two pages from our website. The first 30 children who finish seven books plus the bonus book and return their completed passport to the Centre between September 1st to 14th will receive a gift certificate to Tanner�s Books AND will be entered to win a guest spot as Seaside Magazine�s �Young Readers Book Reviewer�!
Tanner�s Books is also offering 20% off to any child who brings their Rockfish Readers passport into their store this summer to purchase a book from the Rockfish Readers list. The titles are also available at the Vancouver Island Regional Library (library call numbers are noted on the book list!).

These special activities/events are for children participating in our book club. Standard admissions rates apply; free for Annual Pass holders! Happening July 16, July 30, August 13, and August 27.
