Victoria-born Nick Blasko was the perfect choice to �curate� a show celebrating the rock and indie-rock scene in our city. As co-founder of Atomique Productions, Blasko has put on several dozen shows at the Royal and the McPherson, from Wilco to Social Distortion. He�s also the co-creator of Rifflandia and Rock the Shores. But Blasko has always had a huge interest in local bands over the years, and intends to function a bit like a historian for this unique gig. �We�ll be showcasing four or five Victoria artists and bands who are current, but I want their performances to include some covers of notable songs by earlier Victoria acts,� explains Blasko. �Plus the musicians themselves may bring up special guests to incorporate into the show.� Blasko�s idea is to create the performance equivalent of one those �tribute� CDs, only instead of honouring the songs of, say, Leonard Cohen, the show will be a tribute to the musical creativity of an entire city. �This should be a pretty fun and exciting evening,� Blasko adds.
