John is a familiar face to many Alberni Valley residents. He’s played at Char’s several times as a solo singer/songwriter over the past seven years and at a few house concerts in the area too. As the leader of his four-piece rock band, he’s played The Blue Marlin and La Bruschetta at The Italian Hall. He’s looking forward to bringing his band to Char’s, one of his favorite venues of the many he’s played across Canada and in Europe.

John Pippus Band A Vancouver-based high energy, rock and roll quartet. Their brand of rock is heavily influenced by blues, R&B, pop, and classic soul. Original and Classic Rock, R&B, and Blues. John Pippus (songwriter/lead vocals/guitar/harmonica) SoundProof Magazine has declared him, "…a folk/roots gem"; The Vancouver Province says he's: "…a refined tunesmith with serious pop hooks". Earshot Magazine says:"He has a gift for making us believe that he's been down the road and around the block, and is still kickin' it.” The Vancouver Sun says: “He lives and breathes his musical muse.”

John tours regularly in The Netherlands, Ontario, and around BC. He has released four full-length albums, four EPs, and various videos and singles. His version of J.J. Cale’s “Call Me The Breeze” received high praise from Mike Kappus, J.J.’s manager for thirty years and John Lee Hookers long-time manager as well. He said: “ I wanted to let you know that we (including Cale's wife) enjoyed your version of Cale's "Call Me The Breeze" so we have today posted it on Cale's official Facebook page. - Wanted to make you aware and Thanks!”.

Brice Tabish (guitar/vocals) Originally from Campbell River, he started playing guitar professionally as a young teen. Now, in his mid 20s, he has more stories than those twice his age. One example, Rolling Stone’s legendary producer Andrew Loog Oldham took Brice under his wing and had him play guitar and bass on Andrew Oldham Orchestra Vol. 2. He’s also performed with Norman Greenbaum (“Spirit In The Sky”) and tours with '80s rock icon Lee Aaron. He’s currently in the studio with producer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Norah Jones) as a session guitarist.

Peg Wilson (bass) From a musical family, raised in Moncton New Brunswick, Peg grew up listening to country and rock classics. Besides playing bass for John for the past three years, she has worked at a zoo in Manitoba, worked in the social services field, and for one memorable year, Peg was a coach for the Canadian Women’s Olympic gymnastics team.

Wesley Skakun (drums) Having studied classical piano since he was 6 years old, Wes turned to drums and percussion at age 14. He’s a graduate of VCC’s Jazz and Performance Program. He has toured Western Canada with many rock bands.
