The festival is located in the downtown core of Campbell River on Vancouver Island and showcases the work of local artists who are clearly inspired by the breathtaking scenery to be found here, this is often reflected in their creative endeavours.

A new feature for 2016 is the Festival Gallery, a three day event to be staged in the Campbell River Community Center. Open to the public from 12 noon on Friday 22 July through to 3.00 pm on Sunday 24 July this special attraction will feature the art of over thirty accomplished artists and will compliment the traditional artists street market to be held on Saturday 23 July during which the streets are closed to traffic allowing visitors to wander at leisure through this artistic marketplace, being entertained by street performers and musicians, getting involved through interactive arts events as well as an opportunity to experience the delights of the local cuisine.

The 2016 River City ArtsFest is an enjoyable day out for both young and old, providing a high visibility marketplace for the participating artists.
