"Changing Nanaimo" is a piece based on the Harbour Lynx catamaran fast foot ferry that ran between Nanaimo and Vancouver in the early 2000's. The title is even more appropriate now with the new fast foot ferry being considered.

While in Florence Italy, we took a wonderful day tour through Tuscany. Part of that tour took us to this wonderful vineyard where we were treated to a delicious, home-cooked, traditional Italian meal and a wine tasting. In this photograph, I wanted to capture the true essence and feel of the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.

This was the first time I had been there and I was quite impressed with how pretty it was. I really liked how the mountains showed in the distance and the colors of the grasses. b. "Mill Bay Arbutus" 12 x 24 inches, Oil, Reserve $700, Suggested Value: $1700 I have spent a lot of time along this stretch of beach in Mill Bay and I have always admired this particular arbutus tree. I love the texture and color of the arbutus and I tried to get a lot of that texture in this painting with the use of the palette knife.
